Economic diplomacy ushers in a new era of prosperity; Mian Zahid Hussain

Mian Zahid Hussain, President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum & All Karachi Industrial Alliance, Chairman National Business Group Pakistan, Chairman Policy Advisory Board FPCCI, and Former Provincial Minister Information Technology, lauded the recent landmark diplomatic achievements of Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, stating their coordinated efforts have unlocked unprecedented economic opportunities and set Pakistan on a firm path to prosperity.
Speaking to the businessmen today, Mian Zahid Hussain said, “The business community is witnessing a pivotal shift in our nation’s foreign policy, from a traditional focus to a dynamic economic diplomacy. This visionary approach, steered by our civil and military leadership, is yielding tangible results that will redefine Pakistan’s economic landscape for decades to come.”
He highlighted the significant $10 billion investment commitment from Saudi Arabia and the UAE, reflecting their renewed confidence in Pakistan’s economy. This will bolster the energy and agriculture sectors, creating jobs and increasing foreign reserves. Exports to Saudi Arabia saw a 22% increase, surpassing $700 million. The recent Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement with Saudi Arabia further strengthens ties and fosters a stable environment for attracting foreign investment.
He also commended the government’s push for diverse economic ties, highlighting the Prime Minister’s successful trip to Malaysia, which led to five key MoUs in tourism and halal certification.
Mian Zahid Hussain stated that recent achievements, along with renewed and positive engagement with the United States, signal a balanced and forward-looking foreign policy. This policy has given Pakistan an edge over India, with a 19 percent tariff compared to 50 percent. The proactive and repeated engagement with President Trump has transitioned Pakistan’s relationship with the USA from being aid-centric to being based on strategic investment and trade.
Mian Zahid Hussain concluded by stating that the collaboration between the Prime Minister and the Army Chief has positioned Pakistan as a top investment destination, garnering strong support from the business community to drive economic growth for all citizens.
