According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), total cement despatches (domestic and exports) during the first quarter of the current fiscal year were 12.161 million tons, which is 16.25% higher than the 10.461 million tons despatched during the corresponding period of the last fiscal year. Domestic dispatches during this period were 9.573 million tons, compared to 8.319 million tons during the same period the previous year, showing an increase of 15.08%. Exports increased by 20.81% to 2.589 million tons during the first quarter of the current fiscal year, compared to 2.143 million tons during the same period of the last fiscal year.
After experiencing 31.24% month-over-month (m.o.m.) growth in July 2025 and 13.47% in August 2025, cement despatches showed a 7.05% growth in September 2025. Total Cement despatches during September 2025 were 4.250 million tons, compared to 3.970 million tons despatched during the same month of the previous fiscal year.
Local cement dispatches by the industry during September 2025 totaled 3.418 million tons, compared to 2.988 million tons in September 2024, representing an increase of 14.38%. Exports dispatched, on the other hand, declined by 15.25% as volumes decreased from 981,646 tons in September 2024 to 831,966 tons in September 2025.
In September 2025, North-based cement mills dispatched 3.162 million tons of cement, representing a 16.41% increase from the 2.717 million tons dispatched in September 2024. South-based mills dispatched 1.09 million tons of cement in September 2025, which was 13.23% less than the 1.253 million tons dispatched in September 2024.
North-based cement mills dispatched 2.941 million tons of cement in domestic markets in September 2025, showing an increase of 17.02% against 2.513 million tons dispatched in September 2024. South-based mills dispatched 476,465 tons of cement in local markets during September 2025, which was 0.41% more than the 474,528 tons dispatched during September 2024.
Exports from North-based mills increased by 8.84% as the quantities rose from 203,280 tons in September 2024 to 221,252 tons in September 2025. Exports from South decreased by 21.54% to 610,714 tons in September 2025, compared to 778,366 tons during the same month last year.
North-based Mills dispatched 8.010 million tons of cement domestically during the first three months of the current fiscal year, showing an increase of 13.65% compared to the cement dispatches of 7.048 million tons during July-September 2024. Exports from North increased by 30.49% percent to 661,866 tons during July-September 2025 compared with 507,201 tons exported during the same period last year. Total dispatches by North-based mills increased by 14.78% to 8.672 million tons during the first three months of the current financial year, from 7.555 million tons during the same period of the last financial year.
Domestic dispatches by South-based mills during July-September 2025 were 1.562 million tons, showing an increase of 22.99% over the 1.270 million tons of cement dispatched during the same period of the last fiscal year. Exports from South increased by 17.80% to 1.926 million tons during July-September 2025, compared with 1.636 million tons exported during the same period in the previous year. Total dispatches by South-based Mills increased by 20.07% to 3.489 million tons during the first three months of the current financial year from 2.906 million tons during the same period of the last financial year.
A spokesman for the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association mentioned that we can achieve even better growth if the government provides concessions on duties and taxes, which will ultimately benefit the end consumer. Significant rehabilitation work is to be done due to the devastating floods, and we expect cooperation from the government, he added.
