Agreement between Pakistan and IMF is Welcome

Syed Aman Shah, Provincial President of Awaam Pakistan Party Balochistan, has welcomed the $1.21 billion agreement between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), stating that effective and sustainable policies are essential to steer the country out of its current economic difficulties, ensure financial stability, and place the economy on a sound footing.

He said agreements with international financial institutions matter given the economic challenges Pakistan faces. However, he emphasized that the government has a fundamental responsibility to ensure these agreements’ benefits reach ordinary citizens.

Syed Aman Shah stated that the government should take effective measures to stabilize the national economy, reduce financial pressures, and restore investor confidence. These measures must deliver positive results not only for the national economy but also in people’s daily lives.

He emphasized that economic stability should not remain limited to financial agreements and statistical indicators. Instead, its tangible benefits must reach the commoner, labourers, farmers, salaried individuals, traders, and the business community.

He further pointed out that rising inflation, unemployment, high electricity and gas bills, and rising prices of essential commodities have intensified the public’s difficulties.

The Provincial President of Awaam Pakistan Party Balochistan stressed that, alongside economic reforms, the government must give special attention to resolving the problems faced by the people. He said the government should take practical steps to provide relief to ordinary citizens and improve their purchasing power.
