Mashreq Pakistan has announced the appointment of Muhammad Umar Ilyas as Chief Information Officer, highlighting its commitment to technology and digital banking in Pakistan. Umar Ilyas brings over 22 years of experience in technology leadership and digital transformation within the telecommunications and financial services sectors. He has a record of driving enterprise transformations and building high-performing teams.
In his previous roles at PTCL Group and Ubank, he led data center strategy, cloud transformation, and core banking programs, successfully managing large-scale digital initiatives.
As Chief Information Officer, Umar will advance Mashreq Pakistan’s digital agenda and enhance its technology platforms, focusing on adopting innovations such as cloud computing and AI to deliver a digital-first banking experience.
