OGDC commences Oil Production from Bobi Deep-1 Well in Sanghar

Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC), Pakistan’s leading exploration and production company, has successfully commenced oil production from its Bobi Deep-1 well in Bobi and Dhamraki Mining Lease located in Sanghar district of Sindh, marking another significant milestone in the company’s efforts to accelerate domestic hydrocarbon development.

The well is currently producing 2,000 Barrels of Oil Per Day (BOPD) from the Massive Sand of the Lower Goru Formation. OGDC had announced the oil discovery at Bobi Deep-1 from the Massive Sand of the Lower Goru Formation on June 03, 2026. Demonstrating its operational excellence and fast-track execution capabilities, OGDC completed the laying of a 4-inch, 1.5-kilometre flowline connecting the well site to the Bobi Plant in a short period, enabling early monetization of the discovery and the timely commencement of production.

As Operator with 100% working interest in the Bobi and Dhamraki Mining Lease, OGDC executed the project entirely through its indigenous capabilities. The production commencement will strengthen domestic energy supplies and contribute to reducing Pakistan’s reliance on imported oil. OGDC remains committed to accelerating exploration and production activities across its portfolio in line with national energy security objectives.
