K-Electric’s new CEO, Syed Muhammad Taha, has pledged to combat illegal electricity connections and enhance service delivery for the SITE industries. During a visit to the SITE Association of Industry, he outlined plans for technological upgrades, including improved outage management systems and a resolution of the Multi-Year Tariff (MYT) by September.
Taha emphasized collaboration with law enforcement to curb power theft and enhance system stability, prioritizing infrastructure upgrades in heavily industrialized areas. He noted challenges due to overlapping jurisdictions, which cause delays in fault repairs, and proposed replacing 11 KVA lines with 33 KVA lines.
Acting President Ahmed Zulfiqar Chaudhry highlighted the industrial area’s significant contribution to exports and expressed optimism for better coordination under Taha’s leadership. Other attendees, including former presidents and various industrialists, discussed ongoing technical issues, operational coordination, and the importance of timely resolution of complaints.
