Pakistan invites Kazakh investment in Gwadar, Karachi Port projects

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry invited Kazakh investors to explore joint ventures at Pakistani ports, particularly in Gwadar’s free zones, to enhance Kazakhstan’s access to trade markets. During a meeting with an 11-member Kazakh delegation led by Timur Turlov, CEO of Freedom Holding Corp, both sides discussed opportunities in transshipment operations, terminals, and dry-dock facilities.

Chaudhry emphasized the strategic importance of Karachi and Gwadar, highlighting significant investment opportunities in Pakistan’s maritime infrastructure.

The Kazakh delegation showed strong interest in the maritime sector and Pakistan’s blue economy initiatives, viewing the ports as gateways for Central Asian countries. Turlov expressed confidence in Pakistan’s maritime sector and interest in long-term strategic investments.
