S&P Global and the S&P Global Foundation have announced the next phase of the $10 million StepForward initiative, aimed at preparing young people for success in an AI-driven economy. Launched in December 2025, StepForward supports organizations that provide innovative workforce readiness and AI education globally.
A key component is Urdu AI, which will offer accessible AI literacy training and workshops in Urdu for youth across Pakistan. Mujeeb Zahur, Managing Director of S&P Global Pakistan, emphasized the importance of providing AI education in local languages to ensure inclusivity.
The initiative collaborates with MIT Solve to identify nonprofits for tailored workforce development programs. Qaisar Roonjha, Founder of Urdu AI, stated that this partnership allows underserved communities to participate in the AI economy. Grants will also be provided to Generation and MIT RAISE for youth development programs.
Additionally, the UN Youth Office will support a global campaign to promote essential future-ready skills among young people. The S&P Global Foundation, which operates independently, is dedicated to supporting charitable activities and workforce development aligned with S&P Global’s mission.
