Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, holds a tribute ceremony for Maqsood Gul

The Lok Virsa Committee of the Arts Council of Pakistan organized a tribute to the renowned Sindhi poet Maqsood Gul at Haseena Moin Hall. The ceremony featured prominent figures, including Mehtab Akbar Rashdi, Professor Altaf Aseem, Dr. Mujeebuddin Sahrai, and others, along with a large audience of poetry enthusiasts. Yasir Qazi hosted the event.

Muhammad Ahmed Shah, President of the Arts Council, praised Maqsood Gul as a beacon of knowledge and humanity, noting his significant contributions to Sindhi literature. Mehtab Akbar Rashdi highlighted the importance of remembering poets and called for increased recognition of women and youth in society, commending Gul for his dedication to literature and urging the publication of his twelve unpublished poetry collections.

Other speakers underscored Gul’s commitment to truth and culture, while Dr. Mujeebuddin Sahrai encouraged the youth to engage with literature. The event concluded with a collective recognition of Maqsood Gul’s impact on Sindhi literature and a call to preserve the works of past and future writers.
