Pakistanis send remittances exceeding $3.3 billion in February 2026

Pakistan’s workers’ remittances continued their upward trajectory in February 2026, recording inflows of US$3.3 billion, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The central bank reported a 5.2 percent year-on-year increase, underscoring the resilience of overseas Pakistanis’ contributions to the national economy. Cumulatively, remittances reached US$26.5 billion during July–February FY26, reflecting a robust 10.5 per cent increase from US$24.0 billion in the same period last year.

The inflows were primarily sourced from key corridors:

• United Arab Emirates: US$696.2 million
• Saudi Arabia: US$685.5 million
• United Kingdom: US$532.0 million
• United States of America: US$319.5 million

Analysts note that the steady rise in remittances provides crucial support to Pakistan’s external account, helping ease pressure on foreign exchange reserves and the current account deficit. The SBP emphasised that sustained inflows from overseas Pakistanis remain a vital lifeline for the country’s economic stability.
