Syed Aman Shah, Provincial Convener of the Awaam Pakistan Party Balochistan, held a special meeting today in Quetta with young social media activists and students of digital media from various universities and institutions. This meeting is considered a significant step towards promoting the growing influence of social media in Balochistan and encouraging the positive role of youth.
During the meeting, various important topics were discussed, including the role of digital media in Balochistan, online activism among youth, the prevention of fake news dissemination, the responsibilities of young people regarding social and national issues, and the ethical boundaries of online expression.
Syed Aman Shah emphasized that the youth of Balochistan are among the most talented, conscious, and determined in the country. Still, they face a serious lack of opportunities, guidance, and platforms. He highlighted that social and digital media offer golden opportunities for youth to express themselves, learn, and lead. He emphasized the importance of promoting digital literacy in Balochistan, so that young people are not merely passive users but empowered and responsible digital citizens.
On this occasion, social media activists shared their views, raising concerns over challenges to freedom of expression in Balochistan, limited internet access, and a lack of digital infrastructure. Students suggested organizing social media workshops, running awareness campaigns against fake news, and launching training programs on social media ethics for young people.
Syed Aman Shah assured the social media activists and digital media students that the purpose of this meeting was not only to bring them together but also to provide a platform where they can collectively work toward social change. He announced that the Awaam Pakistan Party Balochistan plans to organize similar sessions and workshops in other districts in the future.
