Former President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) and Vice Chairman of the Businessmen Group (BMG), Anjum Nisar, stated that young entrepreneurs are Pakistan’s most valuable asset. He emphasized that by utilizing modern technology, these youth can fully participate in the country’s import and export sectors. He praised the Chiniot Sheikh Society not only for its business success but also for its organized efforts to support deserving members of the community. Observing the spirit of public service among the youth, he confidently said that Pakistan will never run short of generous individuals.
He made these remarks while addressing a dinner hosted by renowned businessman Mobeen Waqar Sheikh in honor of Mr. Faisal Khalil Ahmed, Vice President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), in recognition of his remarkable contributions.
The event also featured speeches by Faisal Khalil and the host Mobeen Waqar Sheikh. It was attended by former KCCI President Mr. Shariq Vohra, former Senior Vice President Mr. Talat Mahmood, Mr. Touseef Ahmed Saigal, Mr. Nasir Mahmood, Mr. Khurram Saigal, Mr. Asif Sheikh Javaid, Mr. Saqib Naseem, Mr. Waqar Nisar, Mr. Amir Zahoor Vohra, Mr. Hamza Nisar Vohra, Mr. Ali Tahir Dada, Mr. Kausar Ejaz Tata, and many other distinguished members of the business community.
Anjum Nisar stressed the urgent need for swift actions to accelerate Pakistan’s economic growth. He noted that increased economic activity would lead to higher national revenue and generate new employment opportunities. He added that it is the government’s responsibility to address the challenges faced by those entrepreneurs who have managed to sustain their businesses under extremely difficult circumstances. Referring to the motorcycle auto parts market, he questioned the performance of K-Electric, stating that despite 100% payment of bills, the market receives electricity for only four hours between 10:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., with persistent load shedding raising serious concerns.
On this occasion, Faisal Khalil emphasized that the government must implement the proposals submitted by the Karachi Chamber in the upcoming federal budget. He warned that any measures in the budget that create obstacles for business would harm the national economy. He highlighted that excessive taxation has adversely affected the performance of businesses and the industrial sector. However, the business community remains hopeful that the 2025–26 federal budget will be “business-friendly.”
Faisal Khalil further stated that young entrepreneurs are ready to play their role in supporting the national economy. He pointed out that the youth of the Chiniot business community, through the Karachi Chamber of Commerce, MASPIDA, and other trade organizations, are actively contributing to the economic progress of Pakistan.
