Business leader and former president of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Dr. Shahid Rasheed Butt, said on Wednesday that the Army chief’s resolve against terrorists is commendable. He said that the sacrifices and exemplary achievements of the army for the country’s sake are a source of pride for the nation.

Shahid Rasheed Butt said in a statement issued here today that the business community across the country fully and unconditionally supports the army. The business leader said that the zero-tolerance policy against terrorists is being implemented vigorously, which is improving the situation in the country.

The Army chief has made it clear that a decisive and befitting response is being given to those who disrupt peace and order in Pakistan, he said.

Mr. Butt noted that the enemy is trying to spread fear, but we will not back down and will continue to work against the evil forces.

The army chief’s reduction in the operational capabilities of terrorists both inside and outside the borders has brought relief to the nation, he said.

The elimination of key terrorist leaders and the destruction of their networks and infrastructures shows their determination that there is no place for terrorism in the country and that this war will be continued until it reaches its logical conclusion.

Shahid Rashid Butt said that the armed forces are united as an invincible force with full determination to protect the sovereignty of the homeland.

He said that unity within the nation’s ranks is imperative and that rising above political differences is necessary to save the country.

Eradication of the philosophy of extremism is necessary; without it, it is difficult to give the nation a safe and bright future, he said, adding that the forces hostile to Pakistan will be defeated this time as in the past.
