Mutual Funds Association of Pakistan launched Yearbook 2018

Mutual Funds Association of Pakistan (MUFAP) held its Yearbook 2018 launch at a local hotel in Karachi. The SECP Policy Board Chairman, Mr. Khalid Mirza, was the chief guest at the occasion. MUFAP is the trade association representing Pakistan’s asset management industry comprising of 19 Asset Management Companies managing 281 Funds (in conventional and Shariah compliant range) with total assets under management (AUMs) of PKR 607 billion as of January 31, 2019.

International Women’s Day celebrated

To commemorate the International Women’s Day, the British Deputy High Commission, Karachi in collaboration with CIRCLE Women Association and Zindagi Trust, launched the initiative of “Girls Take Charge” keeping in line with this year’s theme of #Balanceforbetter.

This initiative will allow girls from Zindagi Trust’s government schools and CIRCLE’s innovative Tech Karo program to shadow the British Deputy High Commissioner, Elin Burns along with CEOs from leading companies like Acumen, Planet N, Standard Chartered, SEEDS Ventures, CIRCLE and Unilever for a day.

Overseas Pakistanis remit US $14.3 billion in the first eight months of FY19

Overseas Pakistani workers remitted US $14350.53 million in the first eight months (July to February) of FY19, showing a growth of 11.82 % compared with US $12833.64 million received during the same period in the preceding year.

During February 2019, the inflow of worker’s remittances amounted to US $1576.51 million, which is 9.56% lower than January 2019 and 8.71% higher than February 2018.

New medical facility inaugurated at Abu Dhabi International Airport

Abu Dhabi Airports and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) has opened a new “Isolation Rooms” unit at Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH), to be one of the first of its kind in the region. The new medical facility is designed to enhance precautious and preventive processes at the Capital’s airport.
