Pakistan Refinery seeks EPC and financing for its expansion project.

Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) intends to undertake a mega major Expansion and Upgrade Project at its existing Refinery, located in Karachi, Pakistan and seeks Solicitation of Interest (SOI) from Contractors experienced in Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) of Oil Refinery/Petrochemical/ Fertilizer/ comparable process plant projects. Interested Contractors will also be required to arrange financing for the PRL Expansion and Upgrade Project.

The “Solicitation of Interest” documents, outlining the scope and other terms and conditions, may be obtained from PRL. The request for SOI documents must be received on or before 21st February.

Recall that In October 2020, a new board of directors was appointed at PRL, marking a significant turning point for the company. The board’s vision and leadership were further demonstrated during the board meeting on December 27, 2021, where the Refinery Expansion and Upgrade Project (REUP) approval was granted. This strategic initiative will revolutionise our operations and pave the way for a prosperous future.

With a strong commitment to meeting market demands and surpassing industry standards, the REUP project encompasses expanding our crude processing capacity from 50,000 to an impressive 100,000 barrels per day (bpd). Additionally, we are elevating our sustainability efforts by upgrading our refinery to a state-of-the-art Deep Conversion Refinery, enabling the production of environmentally friendly fuels that comply with EURO V standards. These visionary changes reflect our unwavering dedication to excellence and determination to shape a better tomorrow.
