Industry at a halt due to non-supply of raw materials, President KATI

Adviser to Chief Minister Sindh for Commerce Faraz Abid Lakhani made a surprise visit to the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) and met President Faraz-ur-Rehman in which the problems of the industry including the Korangi industrial area were discussed. Senior Vice President Nighat Awan was also present on this occasion.

President KATI told the adviser to Chief Minister Sindh that the problem of EIF and FI is taking a serious situation due to which imports have stopped completely. Due to the non-availability of raw materials, the industry has been completely frozen.

President Faraz-ur-Rehman said that if the conditions of EIF and FI are temporarily postponed, it will help in documenting the undocumented economy and it can be brought out of the crisis by utilizing the dollars stored in the black Market.

Faraz-ur-Rehman requested Advisor Sindh Chief Minister Faraz Abid Lakhani to take steps to temporarily remove the condition of EIF and FI.

On this occasion, Faraz Abid Lakhani, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh assured full cooperation to President KATI and said that he will convey KATI’s proposal to Islamabad on the issues of Korangi Industrial Area including EIF and FI. He said that the priority of the government is to stabilize the economy. There are difficulties due to the lack of foreign exchange, but the government is trying to get out of this difficult time with the support of Pakistanis living abroad and friendly countries.
