Former President of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Sheikh Umer Rehan, commended the government’s swift action in issuing sales tax refunds totaling 65 billion rupees. Appreciating Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s immediate attention to the textile industry, Rehan emphasized that this move will enhance investment, boost industry capacity to meet export demands, and contribute to increased revenue.

While praising the timely refund disbursement, Umer Rehan urged the government to extend its focus beyond the textile sector and address issues in various industries promptly. He stressed the importance of tackling challenges such as smuggling and underscored the need for collaborative efforts to formulate a comprehensive, long-term economic policy.

With Ramadan approaching, Sheikh Umer Rehan urged measures to prevent hoarding and curb inflation, emphasizing the significance of consulting all stakeholders to develop effective solutions for diverse sectors. Expressing hope in the leadership of newly elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Rehan called for practical steps to alleviate the economic crisis, reduce inflation, and lower production costs. Such measures, he believes, will foster industrialization and restore confidence within the business community, contributing to the country’s positive economic growth.
