Calling all export businesses looking to access Saudi Arabian markets

SGS is approved by the Saudi Arabia Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) as a notified body to support businesses looking to trade with Saudi Arabia. From cement and ceramic tiles to gas appliances and plugs, consumer products entering the country’s markets must achieve the Saudi Quality Mark (SQM). With SASO Approval, SGS Gulf Limited can now assess and certify regulated products for the quality mark.

SASO implements SQM as per Saudi Cabinet Decree 216 dated 17/06/1431 H. Products must undergo rigorous testing to achieve the license required to display the SQM, which eases successful custom port entry. Once gained, the SQM license is valid for three years, with an annual surveillance inspection.

SGS delivers conformity assessment programs for government authorities in many countries, including Kuwait, Kenya, Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, and Ethiopia. Its customer-focused solutions for testing, inspection, and certification help businesses worldwide achieve compliant market entry and product differentiation.

The full list of SGS-mandated products includes gas appliances, cement and ceramic tiles, household and general-use plugs, switches and sockets, and ready-mix concrete.
