UIT partners with Microvision (School of Animation) to launch animation programme

In its ongoing quest to disseminate nothing but the best in quality education and training, Pakistan’s leading science and technology institution, Usman Institute of Technology (UIT) recently organized an event titled “PAKISTANIMATION” for the launch of its new course “One Year Training in 3D Animation and Visual Effects” backed by the renowned multinational company Autodesk and it’s associate in Pakistan i.e. Microvision. This field is a multi-billion dollar industry and Pakistan must train a large number of people to capitalize on this huge opportunity.

The launch event was attended by students and faculty of visual studiesof various universities, media personnel, NGOs’ officials and various dignitaries. In addition, it was also attended by UIT faculty members and students, where the attendees were briefed about the course and its positive impacts.

The initiative was taken in continuation of UIT’s consolidated efforts to provide opportunities, not only to its own students but to every student in the country seeking a successful career in animation. Over 200 people participated in the orientation event with great enthusiasm and tried to make most of the rare opportunity to gain an insight into what the course offers and how it would benefit them.

Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Dr. Shoaib Zaidi (Head of Academic Programs)said, “Visual effects and graphics are one of the most sought after skill sets in the market today and I think UIT has done a tremendous job in stepping forward to become a beacon for students to step through their gates to avail this opportunity marks the beginning of a successful career in visual graphics and animation” Speaking about the event, he added, “This course provides the steps and skills required to propel students looking to establish a career in this field and take their careers to greater heights.”

In the end, Dr. Zahir Ali Syed, Director, UIT, appreciated the efforts of Autodesk and Microvisionto launch a unique course for the whole nation to excel in the field of animation.
