In its ongoing quest to disseminate nothing but the best in quality education and training to its students, Pakistan’s leading science and technology institution, Usman Institute of Technology (UIT) recently organized a seminar by the renowned multinational company Autodesk and Axon. The event was attended by UIT faculty members and students and the subject of discussion at the seminar was ‘Future of Digital Media Industry’. The chief guest and speaker at the seminar was Mr. Mohammad Saleh, Regional Head, Autodesk, Middle East/Pakistan, Country Head, Autodesk, Saudi Arabia.

The initiative was taken in continuation of UIT’s consolidated efforts to train its students in order to enable them to excel in their professional career after graduation. Over 200 students of Usman Institute of Technology participated in the workshop with great enthusiasm and tried to make most of the rare opportunity to learn from the experts.

Sharing his/her thoughts on the occasion, Engr. Syed Kazim Ali, Assistant Professor and Manager, Industrial Liaison and Placement Bureau, UIT and coordinator of the seminar said: “In this day and age, the digital arena is expanding and evolving at a rapid pace. Visual effects and graphics are one of the most sought after skill sets in the market today.” Speaking about the event, he added, “This seminar outlines the steps and skills required to propel students looking to establish a career in this field and take their careers to greater heights. Autodesk and Axon promoted free products for students, so that they can gain the necessary skills to meet the 3D animation and visual effects standard set from the likes of the Hollywood film industry. I would like to especially thank Mr. Mohammad Saleh for taking out precious time from his busy schedule and sharing his knowledge and experience with the faculty and students of UIT.”

In the end, Dr. Zahir Ali Syed, Director, UIT, appreciated the efforts of Engr. Syed Kazim Ali, Assistant Professor and Manager, Industrial Liaison and Placement Bureau, UIT for arranging such a fruitful seminar and giving students the opportunity to learn from the experts of multinational company Autodesk.
