Two cement plants complete power projects in Pakistan

Attock Cement Pakistan Limited (ACPL) has updated Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on January 03 that the 20MW Solar Power Plant Project has been completed at Hub Chowki, Lasbella in Baluchistan. According to Company Secretary Irfan Amanullah, the project was implemented at an estimated cost of PKR 1.8 bn in collaboration with lead consultant M/s. Attock Energy Private Limited and leading Chinese Suppliers, the Solar Power Plant, is fully operational from January 01, 2022.

Flying Cement Company Limited has also informed PSX that the Company has successfully started commercial operations of the captive power plant of 12 MW at its site in Distt. Khushab in Punjab.

Company Secretary Shahid Ahmad Awan has said, “This is a significant milestone achieved by the Company in line with its strategic objectives of cost rationalization and optimization resulting lower dependency on WAPDA’s power supply. Under this, the Company is contemplating saving in energy cost up to 30 per cent compared to WAPDA’s surging tariff, which would positively reflect the overall financial performance and profitability”.
