The USA and Pakistan launch a year-long campaign commemorating 75 Years of U.S.-Pakistan Relations

The U. S. Embassy in Islamabad extends its best wishes to the Pakistani people on the occasion of Pakistan Day and announces the launch, in partnership with Pakistan, of a joint campaign to celebrate the 75th anniversary of our bilateral relations. Chargé d’affaires Angela P. Aggeler noted: “This year marks the 75th anniversary of Pakistan’s birth as a nation and the 75th anniversary of our bilateral relationship. The United States and Pakistan have enjoyed a strong partnership since we recognized your independence, and we want to highlight the depth and breadth of that partnership throughout the year.”

The United States and Pakistan cooperate on many shared priorities, including the environment, education, public health, trade, and cultural preservation. Our relationship is sustained by robust people-to-people ties, with over 500,000 Pakistanis living in the United States and thousands more who have studied in the United States. Over 37,000 Pakistanis are alumni of U.S. government exchange programs, the largest such alumni group in the world.

We look forward to various cultural events and programs to mark the 75th anniversary of our partnership. We hope this time of celebration and commemoration is a foundation for the many years of partnership still to come.
