Secretary Agriculture Sindh Agha Zaheer Uddin assured to provide facilitation for the promotion of Agricultural exports while addressing a gathering of traders and a foreign delegation at Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI). President KATI Danish Khan, Senior Vice President Faraz-ur-Rehman, Chairman & CEO KITE Zubair Chhaya , Head of KATI’s Standing committee on R&D Syed Wajid Hussain, Chairman of Pakistan Southern Africa Business Forum Rafiq Memon, Gulzar Feroz, DG TDAP Azhar Ali and others also expressed their views and suggestion on the occasion.
Danish Khan said that there is urgent need to take steps to enhance Agricultural exports of the country. He welcomed the delegation from South Africa and urged to promote B2B relations. He suggested exploring mutual opportunities we should share the list of goods and take a review of trade laws of both countries. Danish Khan also said that water treatment, processing and other expertise can be shared. He further said that to increase trade volume between the both countries, we should share details of trade policies, smooth visa process, Freight rates details and tor strike the hurdles in growth of trade activities.
Secretary Agriculture Agha Zaheer Uddin also told that agricultural policy of the province has finalized and government would focus on investment and export promotion in this sector.
Rafique Memom said that in pharmaceutical, Agriculture and seafood sectors Pakistan could increase its exports to South Africa. He said that there is a market of Pakistani fruit in South Africa because of seasonal difference in both countries. Zubair Chhaya of the view that some problems regarding trade laws and policies should be fixed on diplomatic level on other hand business community of the both countries could bring workable proposals. Head of KATI’s standing committee on R&D Syed Wajid Hussain said that agriculture sector of Pakistan has a great potential of investments and we can offer well designed investment plans.
