PSX market stayed in the green zone throughout the day

· Market stayed in the green zone throughout the day. KSE-100 index opened in the positive zone. SPI for the week ended 14-Apr-2022 recorded a decrease of 0.68% week on week while up by 16.44% YoY basis. Moreover, LSMI output increased by 7.8% YoY during 8MFY22. Main board activity remained dull but hefty volumes were recorded in the 3rd tier stocks. In the last trading hour, profit taking was witnessed specially in the refinery sector.

· The Index closed at 46,601.54, up by 117.11pts (+0.25% DoD). Sectors contributing to the performance include Fertilizer (45.7pts), Banks (+37.9pts), E&P’s (+22.3 pts), Inv. Banks (+14.7pts) and Refinery (+11.6 pts)

· Volumes decreased from 494.9mn shares to 365.8mn shares (-26.1% DoD). Average traded value also decreased by 21.8% to reach US$ 50.3mn as against US$ 64.2mn.

· Stocks that contributed significantly to the volumes are CNERGY, WTL, GGL, PRL, and MLCF.
