Professor Dr.S. Masum Ali Tirmizi,Ex-Vice-Chancellor of University of Karachi and Father of Renowned Expert in Energy sector Asim Tirmizi passed away at a private hospital in the early hours of Wednesday. Namaz-e-Janaza of Dr. Masum Tirmizi will be held at the Mosque of Karachi University at 1:30 PM after the Zohar Prayer on Thursday, June 13, 2019.

Prof. Dr. S. Masum Ali Tirmizi was remained Vice Chancellor of KU from September 1st, 1979 to August 31, 1983 for 4 years, He was husband of Late Prof. Dr Nasima Tirmizi who was the great granddaughter of Deputy Nazir Ahmed, Marine Scientist, Dean of science department of KU and renowned columnist using pen name Nasima Bint-e-Siraj. Masum Tirmizi was also Father of Law of Asma Tirmizi, the special correspondent The Financial Daily.
