A 20-member delegation of National Defence University (NDU) of Pakistan, headed by Brig. Waheed Gul Satti, is visiting Turkey as part of its Foreign Study Tour from 14-21 April. He noted that efforts were under way to further strengthen ties in the economic field. He updated that both countries would soon sign Pakistan-Turkey Strategic Economic Framework Plan of Action, which will provide a solid foundation and framework for boosting economic ties.

The NDU delegation visited Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and its affiliated think-tank, Centre for Strategic Research (SAM). Delegation members interacted with senior diplomats, academicians and researchers and exchanged views on regional and global situation with the Turkish participants.

During their stay in Ankara, the NDU delegation also visited the Training & Doctrine Command of the Turkish Land Forces and was briefed about the Turkish military system.

The delegation also visited the NATO-affiliated Centre of Excellence for Defence Against Terrorism, Communication Academy & Training Center Command, as well as Turkish defence industry organisation, HAVELSAN.
