Pakistan’s liquid foreign reserves increased by USD $ One billion

The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$ 24,414.9 million on 02-Jul-2021. The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under: –

  1. Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 17,231.1 million
  2. Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks    : US$ 7,183.8 million
  3. Total liquid foreign reserves                 : US$ 24,414.9 million

During the week ended 02-Jul-2021, SBP received US$ 1,000 million as GOP loan disbursement from China and US$ 440 million from World Bank. After accounting for external debt repayments and other official payments, SBP reserves increased by US$ 1,112 million to US$ 17,231.1 million.
