Pakistan re-elected vice chair of UNEP CPR Bureau

Permanent Representative of Pakistan to United Nations Environment Programme, Raza Bashir Tarar has been unanimously re-elected as Vice Chair of Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR) Bureau from Asia Pacific Group for period 2017-19. He has been re-elected at 139th Committee of Permanent Representatives meeting held in Nairobi, a message received on Friday said.

Ambassador Tarar also currently holds chair of G77 and China, Nairobi Chapter. The election is a manifestation of trust reposed in Pakistan by members of Asia Pacific Group and reflects Pakistan’s commitment to environmental issues. It is mentioned that Pakistan’s Mission in Nairobi is accredited as Permanent Mission to United Nations Office in Nairobi (UNON), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).
