National Tariff Policy (proposed) to improve competitiveness of Pakistan’s exports – Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir

Karachi: Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir, Senior Vice President and Chairman, Budget Advisory Council of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) has hailed Pervaiz Malik, Commerce Minister and the Secretary Commerce, Mohammad Younus Dagha for incorporating the long outstanding demand of the business community in the (draft) National Tariff Policy to do away with the discrimination between the industrial importers and commercial importers of raw materials, intermediate goods and machinery as these are ultimately used in manufacturing activities and would reduce the cost of production of SMEs and production of export surplus at competitive cost.

Turkish Companies show interest in textile and food sector of Pakistan, CG told KATI

20 pc increase in shop rent of KMC owned markets be immediately withdrawn: KCCI

President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) Muffasar Atta Malik has requested Sindh Minister for Local Government Department Jam Khan Shoro to issue directives to Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) for immediate withdrawal of 20 percent increase in shop rent of KMC owned markets announced last year which appeared in the Challans of January 2018.

Governor SBP unveils Commemorative Coin of Dr. Ruth Pfau

Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Mr. Tariq Bajwa and the German ambassador to Pakistan Mr. Martin Koblerunveiled Rs. 50 commemorative coin in recognition of meritorious services rendered by Dr. Ruth Katherina Martha Pfau at the SBP Headquarters in Karachi. The SBP with the approval from federal Government has issued a commemorative coin of Rupees 50 which will be available for public issuance across the country through SBP Banking Service Corporation offices from May 9, 2018.

DP World Group Chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem met with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev in Baku yesterday (9 May)to explore future opportunities for economic cooperation and existing arrangements to develop logistics infrastructure in the country.
