UIT announces results of NAVTTC program

Usman Institute of Technology (UIT) affiliated with NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi. UIT recently announced the results of its National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) program which was conducted and organized at UIT.

It is worth mentioning that in the NAVTTC program the recent final exam result indicates that the Industrial Electrician group scored 3 A+’s students and out of the 22 students and no one scored below B grade.

SBP policy (target) rate increased by 150 bps to 10.0 percent effective from 3rd December 2018

The economic data released since the last Monetary Policy Committee meeting in September 2018 shows that the positive impact of recent stabilization measures has started to materialize gradually. Particularly, the current account deficit is showing early signs of improvement. However, the near term challenges to Pakistan’s economy continue to persist with rising inflation, an elevated fiscal deficit and low foreign exchange reserves.

Pakistan’s Liquid Foreign Reserves Position

The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$14,572.6 million on 23November2018. The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:

Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan : US$ 8,062.4 million

Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks : US$ 6,510.2 million

Total liquid foreign reserves               : US$ 14,572.6 million

During the week ending 23November2018, SBP’s reserves increased by US$776 million to US$8,062.4 million, due to official bilateral inflow.
