KE carries out development work at Old Town grid

As part of K-Electric’s US$ 450 million transmission enhancement plan (TP-1000) to add 1000 MVA to its network, development work was carried out on Old Town grid and associated transmission lines.


A planned power shutdown was taken to carry out the development work on Old Town grid from 7am to 7pm today and customers associated with the grid were informed prior to the shutdown via multiple communication platforms.

Nutrition International hosts provincial orientation workshop for media

Nutrition International (NI) organized a provincial orientation workshop for journalists and media personnel on Diarrhea prevention and management in children younger than five years. The workshop focused on the harmful effects of diarrhea in child growth and nutrition. The workshop intended to sensitize the audience on utilization of mass media in influencing knowledge and thereby changing behaviors.

President KCCI for simplifying procedures, restoration of previous form

President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) Junaid Esmail Makda, while appreciating the recent announcement to extend the last date for filing income tax returns till November 30, 2018, advised the Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue & Economic Affairs Asad Umer that keeping in view the complications in the newly introduced form, the government should simplify filing procedures by immediately discontinuing the current new form and restoring the previous form for filing income tax returns as all taxpayers and practitioners are well-acquainted with the previous version therefore they will absolutely have no problems in easily submitting their returns via the old form.
