CPEC is essence of bilateral relations between China, Pakistan: Chinese Ambassador Yu Jing

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Mr. Yu Jing has emphasized that China Pakistan Economic Corridor is essence of bilateral long term relations between China and Pakistan. CPEC will develop infrastructure in Pakistan.

FPCCI urges for improvement in Tourism Infrastructure

Engr. Daroo Khan Achakzai, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) underscored the need to improve the travel and tourism industry of Pakistan which has potential to enhance national income, poverty alleviation and employment generation. While quoting the statistics, he stated that travel and tourism industry contributes just 2.7% in GDP of Pakistan while its contribution in Global GDP is 10% and in GDP of India 9.1%, Malaysia 15%, China 15.2%, Sri Lanka 11.1%, Nepal 5% etc.

Pakistan’s Liquid Foreign Reserves Position

The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$15,003.7 million on 27September2019.The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:-

Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan : US$ 7,741.6 million

Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks : US$ 7,262.1 million

Total liquid foreign reserves         : US$ 15,003.7 million

During the week ending 27September2019, SBP’s reserves decreased by US$724 million to US$7,741.6 million.

Domestic cement dispatches increased by 11.51 percent in September 2019

The cement sector posted first real growth during September this year as the total dispatches increased by 11.51 percent compared with the corresponding period of last year; with both local consumption and exports increasing in double digits.

Cement industry dispatched 4.270 million tons of cement in September 2019 against 3.829 million tons dispatched in September 2018.
