New passenger terminal opening at Limassol, Cyprus Port

A new modern terminal designed to accommodate the largest operating cruise vessels, is scheduled to open in the summer at DP World Limassol port. The new terminal consists of seven pods with an internal area of 7,000 square meters. Along with 24-hour availability the terminal offers integrated services including Home Call and Day Call handling capability, ensuring an improved customer experience.

KATI demands a centralized system for Industry’s concerns

Patron in chief of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) S M Muneer and President of the association Masood Naqi have urged upon the government to introduce “One Window Service” to resolve industry’s problems. SM Muneer said that while Pakistani industry is already facing energy, the infrastructure problems and competition in international market, it has to deal with more than 35 government agencies of city, province and federal governments.

Economy maintains its growth momentum, says SBP report

The growth in real GDP remained at its upward trajectory, and increased to a decade-high of 5.3 percent in FY17, noted by State Bank of Pakistan’s third quarterly report on the State of Pakistan’s Economy released today. Economic indicators like private sector credit and investment also posted encouraging picture, whereas inflation remained below the target.

Telenor Microfinance Bank disburses first claim under ‘Kamyab Mustaqbil’ program

Pakistan’s premier microfinance institution, Telenor Microfinance Bank (formerly Tameer Microfinance Bank) has dispensed the first insurance claim worth Rs. 1 million under its ‘Kamyab Mustaqbil’ Takaful program.


The claim was released to the family of a customer, Muhammad Ilyas, who recently succumbed to a deadly cardiac arrest, leaving his family under hefty debt and despair.

Etihad Airways increases capacity to meet growing summer demands

Etihad Airways is increasing capacity between its Abu Dhabi hub and key markets of Amman, Beirut, Cairo, Casablanca and Rabat to cater to the peak June – September travel period, while additional services to Dammam will be year-round.  Extra flights and the deployment of bigger aircraft in the Middle East and North Africa will provide local guests with more choice and greater convenience travelling during the holiday season.

PACRA upgrades entity and TFCs Ratings of Bank Alfalah

The Pakistan Credit Rating Agency (PACRA) has upgraded the Entity and TFCs rating of Bank Alfalah Limited. The Bank’s Long Term Entity Rating was upgraded to AA+ (Double A Plus) from the previous rating of AA (Double A), while its Long Term Debt Instrument Rating was upgraded to AA (Double A) from the previous rating of AA- (Double A Minus), while the outlook has been changed from Positive to Stable in both cases.
