Wind power sector looks govt. support

Wind  power sector is looking for the support of  PM who has recently chaired the meeting of Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCoE) held on 24th April 2017, where the PM has instructed the power ministry to immediately resolve upfront tariff issues with NEPRA for different kinds of fuels, including LNG, solar, coal, furnace oil, diesel and gas and ordered all line departments to work out immediate solutions for administrative and legal issues that were holding up the implementation of energy projects on a priority basis.

IBA: CED Certificate Distribution Ceremony

A Certificate Distribution Ceremony for Business Incubation Program for Women Home-Based Workers was held at IBA Main Campus on Tuesday 25th April. Sixty one women home-based workers belonging to areas such as Sultanabad, Korangi, Ibrahim Hyderi and Lyari were awarded certificates for completing a comprehensive three-month entrepreneurship training program especially designed for them.

Marriyum inaugurates China Culture Centre at PNCA

Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Tuesday the China Cultural Centre was one of the dividends of China-Pakistan exemplary friendship. Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the centre at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA), she said launch of the centre was reflective of the intensity of the deep-rooted friendship between the two neighbourly countries.

Engro Fertilizer GM remains 35%, PAT 1.66Bn

Engro Fertilizers Ltd has announced that its Profit After Tax (PAT) fell 22 percent to Rs1.66bn (or Rs1.29 per share) in the January-March quarter 2017. Sales declined 15 percent to Rs10.07bn. The sales dropped mainly due to weaker off-take of urea and diammonium phosphate (DAP) as they were down 7 percent and 38 percent year-on-year.
