Etihad Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner touches down in Riyadh

Etihad Airways’ latest Boeing 787 Dreamliner route was launched on Oct 30, with the state-of-the art aircraft touching down in Riyadh, capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The occasion was marked with an official welcome ceremony attended by the airline’s senior management led by Hareb Almuhairy, Etihad Airways Senior Vice President Corporate and International Affairs, together with Mohammad Al Bulooki, Etihad Airways Vice President UAE and GCC Commercial, Sultan AL Mansoori, GCC Country Manager, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) and Adel Al Ragadi ,Terminal Operation Manager, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

Bank Alfalah partners with Karandaaz to provide digital financial services in Pakistan

In pursuit of its mission to digitize Pakistan’s financial services landscape, Bank Alfalah has signed two major agreements with Karandaaz Pakistan, a Section 42, non-profit company promoting financial inclusion in Pakistan. The agreements are aimed at promoting access to finance for small businesses through a commercially directed investment platform, to work jointly on multiple strategies to digitize payments and create convenient, transparent and reliable channels of financial transactions, through a suite of financial products and services with a focus on retail supply chain payments.

KPT signs agreement with NCMPR BAHRIA UNIVERSITY Karachi

 Karachi Port Trust (KPT) signs “Agreement” with the National Centre of Maritime Policy Research (NCMPR), Bahria University Campus, Karachi, during a proceeding that has taken place at KPT Head Office today. Millat Tractors profits up by 103 percent in 1QFY17

Pakistan leading Tractor manufacturer – Millat Tractors Limited (MTL) has posted earnings of PKR513mn (EPS:PKR11.6) in 1QFY17 compared to PKR252mn (EPS:PKR5.7) in the same period last year showing an increase of 103%YoY.

According to local research house, the company sales clocked in at PKR4.7bn in the outgoing quarter showing an increase of 32%YoY.

Shaikh Khalid Tawab shows concern over Pakistan’s ranking on Global Competitiveness Index

Shaikh Khalid Tawab, Sr. Vice President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry expressed his serious concern over the lower ranking of Pakistan in Global Competiveness Index 2016-17; report of World Economic Forum (WEF).  He stated that as compared to last year, the ranking of Pakistan has improved by four notches and stood at 122nd in 2016-17 out of 138 countries, but this ranking is lowest in South Asian region which is alarming.
