SBP takes media on-board over its meeting with CEOs of commercial banks

State Bank of Pakistan, for the first time, took electronic and print media on-board after Governor State Bank of Pakistan Mr. Ashraf Mahmood Wathra addressed CEOs of commercial banks at SBP headquarters I.I Chundrigar Road, Karachi. Thanking media representatives for arriving on short notice, Governor SBP said this is the first time that we have invited media as a follow on to such a meeting with the presidents and CEOs of banks.

200 companies will attend automotive expo next year: FPCCI

Senior vice president of Korangi Association of Trade &Industry (KATI) and Chairman of FPCCI’s standing committee on Automotive Ghaznafar Ali Khan told that 150 to 200 Chinese companies will participate in Auto expo, going to held in Pakistan, next year. Overseas Pakistani workers remit $12.3 billion in first eight months of FY17

Overseas Pakistani workers remitted US$ 12363.3 million in first eight months (July to February) of FY17, compared with US$ 12676.64 million received during the same period in the preceding year. During February 2017, the inflow of worker’s remittances amounted to US$ 1416.92 million, which is 4.7% lower than January 2017 and 6.9% less than February 2016.

Prime Minister announces launch of a new phase of development in Sindh

Secretary IBNH directs PID, PEMRA, PBC, PTV to ensure decency

Secretary Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage (IBNH) Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui Thursday directed PID, PEMRA, PBC and PTV to ensure the norms of morality, decency and ethics in advertisements, publications and broadcasts. The secretary, who appeared before the Islamabad High Court on an urgent notice in the blasphemy case, conveyed in writing the apex court’s directives to Press Information Department (PID), Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) and Pakistan Television (PTV) that “advertisements, publications and broadcasts must adhere to norms of morality, decency and ethics.”

Shoaib asked heads of the organizations concerned to give due attentions towards sensitive issues to protect moral and social fabric of the society.
