SBP Issues Shariah compliant Long Term Financing Facility for exporters

In order to provide Shariah compliant alternative of conventional Long Term Financing Facility (LTFF) to meet long awaited demand of exporters, State Bank of Pakistan has issued Islamic Long Term Financing Facility (ILTFF) based onMudarabah. State Bank of Pakistan since 2008 has been offering long-term refinance facility for plant and machinery through commercial banks and development finance institutions to allow exporters an opportunity to avail concessional financing for imported and locally manufactured plant & machinery.

Etihad Airways honours record breaking executive

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has honoured its high flying executive Andrew Fisher following his record-breaking feat of travelling around the globe in the fastest time and in the fewest number of flights. Clocking a flying time of 52 hours and 34 minutes, Andrew managed to beat the previous record by 3 hours and 13 minutes, and using only four scheduled commercial flights instead of five to achieve his lifelong ambition.

China donates life-saving ambulance to Aman Foundation

Chinese Consulate, as part of its social responsibility initiatives has partnered with the Aman Foundation to support their life-saving Ambulance program. The partnership was announced at the launch of a woman empowerment event at Aman Foundation head office. The woman empowerment program at Aman Tech is a female vocational training program focused to empower women from marginalized communities.

Diplomats for improving Pakistan’s perception to attract foreign investment

Karachi-based diplomats have underscored the need to improve the perception about Pakistan in order to attract maximum number of foreign investors who will certainly be interested in massive investment opportunities available in Pakistan, particularly Karachi. Exchanging views at a Breakfast Meeting hosted by Karachi Chamber in a local hotel, they added that Foreign Investors from their respective countries were keen to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan but the negative perception, excessive paper-work and red-tapism were hindering FDI in the country.

Shura calls for Day of Morality in the country

Speaking at a meeting of Shura Hamdard, organized by Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, to discuss the theme: “Inclusion of the subject of morality in curricula of primary an higher education,” Dost Mohammed Faizi, former Sindh minister said that keeping in view the corruption, mismanagement and moral degradation rampant in Pakistani society, it was necessary to hold a “Day of Morality” in the country and that day should be fixed on 9th January, the birthday of Hakim Mohammed Said, who not only had launched a ‘movement of voice of morality, but also brought out a magazine: “Voice of Morality” in order to promote the cause of morality and moral conduct necessary to make Pakistan a peaceful and prosperous Islamic state.

Overseas Pakistanis remit US $11.4 billion in the first seven months of FY18

Overseas Pakistani workers remitted US $11383.47 million in the first seven months (July to January) of FY18, showing a growth of 3.55 % compared with US $10993.48 million received during the same period in the preceding year. During January 2018, the inflow of worker’s remittances amounted to US $1638.72 million, which is 4.92% lower than December 2017 and 10.10% higher than January 2017.

Telenor: Giving invisible children an identity in Pakistan

There’s an estimated 1.1 billion people around the world who don’t officially exist as they were never registered at birth. One third of the population in Pakistan is effectively invisible because of this, living without access to education or healthcare. GSMA’s Case for Change came to Pakistan to highlight how Telenor Pakistan is using mobile technology to improve the quality of life for children and their parents in the country.
