Govt to continue promoting country’s diverse culture: Shafqat Jalil

Secretary Information and Broadcasting Shafqat Jalil on Sunday said the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting would continue its endeavours to promote the country’s diverse culture and acknowledge artists’ talent by holding cultural shows.

Addressing the award distribution ceremony of Lok Mela, which ended here at the Lok Virsa today, he said there was no dearth of talent in the country, which needed ample opportunities to flourish and the ministry would do the needful.

Sastaticket.pk raises US$1.5m Series A, funding round led by Gobi Partners

Overseas Pakistanis remit US $7.4 billion in the first four months of FY19

Overseas Pakistani workers remitted US $7419.98 million in the first four months (July to October) of FY19, compared with US $6,444.46 million received during the same period in the preceding year. During October 2018, the inflow of worker’s remittances amounted to US $2000.47 million, which is 37.7% higher than September 2018 and 20.9% higher than October 2017.

K-Electric conducts anti-power theft drive in Saddar

K-Electric (KE) conducted a kunda removal drive in different areas of Saddar to curb power theft and illegal connections. During the drive, several illegal power connections, being used for commercial purposes, were removed from Empress Market, Rainbow Center, Saddar Dawakhana, Regal Chowk, Preedi Street and Passport Office areas.

Telenor Pakistan starts the 6th batch of open mind Pakistan trainee program

Telenor
Pakistan has announced call for entries for its sixth batch of Open Mind Pakistan, a comprehensive, one-of-a-kind trainee program aimed at enhancing employability of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) through skill development, mentoring and on-job training.

After a thorough screening process, 18 shortlisted people with special needs will be given functional and on-job training for three months at Telenor Pakistan.

SSGC contributes in dams’ fund

Pakistan leading gas utility – Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has donated Rs15 million to the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s Diamer-Basha and Mohmand Dams Fund, according to a company statement issued recently.

“The SSGC executives and workers enthusiastically responded to the clarion call of Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar and Prime Minister Imran Khan by donating their basic salaries towards this national cause,” the company statement added.
