National Conference on the great Sufi poet Shah Latif

Siraj Institute of Sindh Studies a nonpolitical, academic and research institution that was established in 2014, in the name of renowned author and scholar Sirajul Haque Memon, to conduct research on the different aspects of the art, culture, heritage, language and literature of Sindh. It has been organizing lectures, seminars and conferences every year. This year they are organizing a two-day National Conference on the great Sufi poet Shah Latif on 6-7th April 2019 at Mohatta Palace Museum, Karachi.

Scholars from all over Pakistan will discuss and present their academic papers redefining the various aspects of the poetry, message and philosophy of Latif for the urban audience, especially the youth of 21st century.

There will be 2 musical nights in which famous classical and folk artists will present Surs and Raagas of Shah Latif. A Dance-Drama based on his seven heroines “Sat-Soormion” will also be presented by a group of classical performers. This conference aims to benefit the students and general public academically and intellectually.
