Spokesperson of Sindh Government and advisor to CM Barrister Murtaza Wahab has urged the federal government to immediately resolve gas shortage issues face by industry in Karachi. He was addressing a meeting held by Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) here on Tuesday. President of KATI Sheikh Umer Rehan , Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, Chairman & CEO KITE Zubair Chhaya, Gulzar Firoz and others were also addressed the occasion.
Murtaza Wahab said that Sindh has its first right on the gas which is discovered form the province but Federation has depriving of this city and province from this right. He said that federal government only provided 350 billion Rs. For Karachi Transformation package, which doesn’t match PTI representation from Karachi. He told that many projects of Sindh government would be completed soon. Wahab said that Industry is our top priority and Sindh government is ready to provide any assistance to resolve their issues. He announced that a successful pilot project of palm oil plantation has started and production of oil on trial basis would be started soon.
Sheikh Umer Rehan said that due to interruption of gas supply industrial production facing a setback which could be disastrous for country’s economy. He also urged the advisor that provincial government should play its role. He also announced a gold medal for administrator Korangi for his great services to the area. Zubair Chhaya said that the current local body system has proved useless for the citizens and industry of this city. He suggested changes to make this system effective, especially for industrial areas. Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan advised to establish a business advisory council with a mandate to resolve business community’s concerns.
Murtaza Wahab said that Malir expressway would be inaugurated next month. A 30 MDG water line for Karachi south would be established soon. He also agreed to legislate for combine affluent plant for Karachi Industrial Area. At the occasion Farhan ur Rehman, Masood Naqi, SM Yahya, Syed Johar Qandhari and Danish Khan were also present.
