Top Thai Brands Expo will be held on July 20-22 in Karachi

Aiming to enhance bilateral trade between two countries, a three-day expo “Top Thai Brands 2019” exhibiting top brands of Thailand is being organized on 20-22 July 2019 at Pearl Continental Hotel Karachi.

The exhibition is being managed by the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Royal Thai Government and Event & Conference International.

ACCA hosts Dr Amjad Saqib, founder of Islamic micro finance company Akhuwat in the UK

Dr Muhammad Amjad Saqib, the founder of the Islamic micro finance company, Akhuwat, met with Alan Hatfield, executive director for strategy and development at ACCA’s London headquarters on 12 July 2019.

Dr Saqib was in London to speak at an event organised at the House of Lords, the upper house of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, and also wanted to meet with the global professional body to discuss his organisation’s initiatives to promote literacy and micro finance in Pakistan, and around the world.

Pakistani Parliamentary delegation participates in the Democracy and National Unity Day event in Ankara

Bus fare Increased by 50% to 100%

For the second time within a year (from July 2018 to July 2019), the transport mafia in Karachi has raised bus fare by 50% to 100% per commuter per trip without any notification issued by the government. Following the increase in prices of high speed diesel (HSD) and CNG, the operators of Shama Coach, F-11, Daata Coach, W-11, 17-J, S-2, W-21 and various other buses and coaches are now charging an extra Rs10 to Rs20 per commuter and that too on the basis of fake fare lists containing numerous spelling and language errors.
