Jameel Ahmad becomes Deputy Governor SBP

The Federal Government has appointed Mr. Jameel Ahmad presently working as Executive Director, State Bank of Pakistan as Deputy Governor, SBP for a period of three years with effect from 11th April, 2017. Mr. Jameel Ahmad’s illustrious career as an accomplished central banker spans over 26 years working at senior positions at the State Bank of Pakistan and the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA).

Automobile production on the rise in country

Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) released auto numbers, where sales volume (excluding m. bikes) increased by 5%YoY to 203k units in 9MFY17, as compared to 194k units in the SPLY. Similarly on monthly basis auto sales in Mar’17 surged by 7%MoM to 28k units, as against26k units in Feb’17.

PM sees key role for US in resolving Kashmir dispute

Khushhali Microfinance Bank (KMB) plans agricultural loans under the Khushhali Agri Plus scheme

Khushhali Microfinance Bank (KMB) is rolling out agricultural loans under the Khushhali Agri Plus scheme. As part of its MSME outreach strategy, these agri loans shall aid farmers in purchasing agricultural machinery, assets and other irrigational tools. The loan scheme is organized under the Financial Market Development (FMD) project – a five year technical and training collaboration program funded by USAID in which Khushhali Microfinance Bank is one of the Development Credit Authority’s (DCA) partner banks.
