KATI welcomes unanimous passing of Army Act Amendment Bill

Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) welcomed the unanimous passing of constitutional amendment which is meant to empower Prime Minister to give extension to service chiefs and chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff committee. In a statement released by KATI, Patron in Chief S.M. Muneer and President Sheikh Umer Rehan, praised the political leadership on their resolve for the consensus on the issue related to national security.

S.M. Muneer was of view that in current international and regional situation, continuation of Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa was the need of time and this legislation is a step forward towards country’s stability. He said that under the leadership of Gen. Bajwa, Pak Army has defeated the internal as well as external threats to the country. He applauded his great contribution for the law enforcement in Pakistan. S.M. Muneer said that business community fully supports this move by the parliament and we believe that this legislation will bring more stability in the country. 

Sheikh Umer Rehan said that parliament voiced sentiments of the business community and the people of Pakistan by taking this step. He said that on national security, political consensus was much needed and political leadership has understood the need of time, “it should be praised”, he added.
