KATI urges due share of industrial areas in development fund allocations

President of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) Masood Naqi has demanded to Sindh Government to include industrial infrastructure projects in development plans. According to a statement released by KATI, Masood Naqi said that industrial areas of Karachi are facing severe infrastructural problems and lacking basic facilities, CM Murad Ali Shah assured solutions for these problems, several times.

Masood Naqi urged that development projects in industrial areas should be included into allocated funds for development in current budget. He noted that industrial sector based in Karachi shares a large contribution in national exchequer, along this, being the largest employment provider this sector is not being paid back with due attention to its issues. He said that many of basic infrastructural issues are not being resolved since decades, however there is a hope that current provincial government would provide due share of industry in development projects. He also noted that Sindh government largely relied on services tax for revenue, which would result as higher prices of services related to industries and could affect directly to industry, already burdened with higher cost of production. He urged to lower down services tax and to resolve dual taxation issues.
