KATI sees declining exports as great challenge for Industrial sector

President of Korangi Association of Trade &Industry (KATI) Masood Naqi, Senior Vice President Ghazanfar Ali Khan and Vice President of the association Umer Rehan expressed deep concern on declined exports. In a joint statement it is noted that slashed exports of the country to the 19 billion USD is a matter of great concern for industry sector.

President Masood Naqi said that exports sector and industry related to it both are now facing big challenges. He mentioned that instead of repeated promises government didn’t released pending payments of refunds to the exporters and industry, this was another hurdle to make efforts to maintain the production and exports level. He said that although energy crisis was calmed down to the extent and law & order situation become better than past but important parts of the economic policy were not implemented and industry is facing a great deal of challenges. He also mentioned that after repeated calls to solve higher production cost and infrastructural problems, no any effective measures were taken in this direction.

KATI also urged the national leadership to put country’s economic interest on the top of their priority list. It was also reminded that nothing was more important than economic future of Pakistan and this should be the key point of political agenda.
