KATI is optimistic regarding outcomes of PM’s China visit

Korangi Association of Trade& Industry (KATI) has welcomed the outcomes of PM’s visit to China. According a statement released by KATI Patron in Chief SM Muneer, President Danish Khan, Chairman& CEO KITE Zubair Chhaya, Senior Vice President Faraz-ur-Rehman and Vice President of the association Maheen Salman applauded the development regarding increasing access of Pakistani products to Chinese Market.

While referring to a recent statement by Advisor to PM on commerce and industry, Abul Razak Dawood. SM Muneer said that business community always support the policy “trade instead of aid”. He said that as the advisor told in his presser that Pakistani exports to China would increase 3.2 billion USD from 1.2 bn USD till the end of FY 2018-19, it is a light of hope for the industry. He also applauded the efforts of the Prime Minister Imran Khan to bring back the country’s economy on the track.

President KATI Danish Khan noted that there is a great opportunity to expend exports to China especially in textile, leather and agriculture sectors. He said that we should pursue the tariffs equaling to Bangladesh or the Asean countries. He said that industry is hopeful that trade balance with China would become stable in the favor of Pakistan. Danish Khan further said that we got numerous exports opportunities in the past but due to increased cost of doing business and production cost we legged behind in exports as compare to our neighboring countries. He urged the government to similar efforts to bring down production cost alongside strengthening foreign trade relations.
