KATI expresses concern over hike in KE tariff

Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) has raised concerns over hike in K-Electric tariff approved by the federal government. In a statement released President KATI Saleem-uz-Zaman, Senior Vice President Zaki Sharif and Vice President Nighat Awan termed that this decision will put more burden on already struggling industry and the people of the city.

President KATI Saleem-uz-Zaman said that industry has been asking to reduce energy prices since years as it directly affect the cost of production, which is a real challenge for industry. He mentioned that industrial sector bore a severe burn form covid-19 pandemic crisis and in these situation we expect relief from government. President KATI said that on one hand government offering stimulate package for industry and on the other hand allowing increase in energy tariff, in the middle of this survival of industry is getting more difficult by every passing day. Saleem-uz-Zaman urged the federal government to revise the hike in KE tariff to give relief to the industry and common people.
