KATI demands an extension in Sales Tax & Fed Excise returns filing date

Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) President Saleem-uz-Zaman demands extension in Sales Tax and Federal Excise returns submission date. In a statement, he appeals to Asim Ahmed, Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), that the business community could not file the returns of April 2021 due to Ramadan, Eid holidays, Lock Down, and restricted office timings.

President KATI urged the Chairman FBR to extend the day by May 31, 2021, so that the business community can submit the returns with ease. Earlier, the date of Sales Tax and Fed Excise returns date was extended by May 18, 2021, which was untapped in the Eid holidays, and the business community had only two days to fill and submit the return.

Saleem-uz-Zaman further states, “NCOC decided to restrict working hours and imposed lockdown across the country which makes things difficult for the business community, considering the scenario FBR must facilitate business community and extend the submission date for at least two weeks, enabling us to file the returns with ease”.
