A function of Hamdard Naunehal Assembly Karachi chapter, containing recitation of holy verses, na’at, speeches, tableau, religious song and dua-i- Said was held at a local hotel recently. Speaking on the occasion on the theme: “Let us live with peace”, Mrs. Sadia Rashid, President Hamdard Foundation Pakistan said that Islam was a torch-bearer of peace and the peace was a blessing of Allah as Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said has said: “Absence of peace is a sign of human conscious’ darkness”.

‘Peace is a simple and short word, but it has a vast meanings and explanations. Every religion has endorsed the vitality and impacts of peace and asked its followers to respect humanity’, she said adding: ‘when we take the account of present world we observe that everywhere people of the world are facing war and war crimes even our country is experiencing a worst situation regarding peace and law and order.’

Chief Guest and Chief Executive of Hamdard University Hospital, Brigadier (Rtd) Dr. Riazul Haq while addressing the function said that the holy verses of Surah At-Tin of Holy Qura’n were a clear witness of peace and mutual love in which Allah almighty has taken vow for peace. God has sent the message of peace to every nation through his messengers and the agreement of Huddabia was only for the purpose of peace though its conditions were quite unsuitable, he added.

He said that after the conquest of Mecca, the Holy Prophet had ordered: ‘No more killing’ and announced a general amnesty. Our founding father Quaid-i-Azam had always preached peace and brotherhood, he added.
