Hamdard Celebrates World Health Day 2018

The real wealth of a country is human resources and those counties that are investing in human resource, education, science, technology and innovation (ESTI) are making rapid progress. Knowledge-based economy is the answer of all socio economic illness and health is also attached to the economic condition. Herbal have treasures of cure and heir compounds are equally useful in treatment. Hakim Mohammad Said was a great herbalist. Who had a lot in the field of tibb, health and education who made his dream of Madinat-ul-Hikmah, a city of education, science and culture. A reality Sadia Rashid is taking ahead his mission and holding international Children’s day every year.

These views were expressed by the chief guest Prof, Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman patron-in-chief international centre for chemical and biological sciences, University of Karachi at 27th international Children Health Conference, held under the aegis of Hamdard Public school Karachi and Hamdard Foundation Pakistan on the topic of ” Universal Health Coverage- Every one – Everywhere” on the occasion of World Health Day on April 6, 2018, presided over by Dr. Mohammad Assai Ardakani, world Health Organization representative in Pakistan at a local Hotel.

He further said today was the world of wonderful knowledge and scientific invention and innovation as past few decades’ importance of natural resources had diminished and knowledge had emerged as the key factor in Development. Many countries China, Korea and particularly Singapore which had a population only 5 million with no natural resources, but since it invested in education and innovation it exports worth dollar 518 billion whereas Pakistan was dollar 23 billion. It’s a wakeup call for us, He warned, adding that knowledge was the key driver of socio economic development, something that leaders in developing countries did not realize it was such face of technical development that truth has become stranger than fiction, which was why innovation had become a daily necessary. Exciting development had been, made in understanding and reversing of the ageing process. Genomics was used for tailoring new plant species. Blinds now could be able to see their tongue as an electronic lollipop. Which would allow the blind to see with their tongue, partially restoring their eye sight. Dr. Rahman commended the speeches delivered by young speakers at the conference and congratulated Mrs. Sadia Rashid on holding such wonderful Conference.

Dr. Mohammad Assai Ardakani in his presidential address said that after the excellent speeches of young speakers at conference nothing left for him to say on this topic. However, there were few points that he wanted to share with the audience that WHO was extending cooperation to the government to scale up awareness among health workers.

He said that the first speaker in the conference mention about Malaria which was less than a threat to Pakistan, because no mother and child have excess to treatment of preventable diseases like Malaria. To remove this situation, it was necessary helping each other to stay healthy. Environment be change as action be taken. He emphasized on health insurance to make people accessible to health care. It was countries responsibility to achieve visionary goal health for all and let us need to make commitment with sis stainable health goals. He congratulated Mrs. Saida Rashid for improving the cause of health and inviting him every year in International Children Health Conference.

Mrs. Sadia Rashid, President Hamdard Foundation Pakistan while delivering the conference address said that this year was an important anniversary for the world Health Organization; the 70th like it was for Pakistan last year. That’s why the World Health Day Topic this year was Health for all, which has been the guiding vision of the organization for 7 decades, she added and further said that it also served as an important mile stone for all nation and their leaders who pledged in 2015 to reached the sustainable development goals by 2030.

This wise say, to achieve universal Health coverage, it is best to lay and infrastructure which is not institution and diseases – based, but people based, always remembering that ounce of prevention is worth upon of cure, she said, adding “If you can spread the awareness of how to stay healthy and prevent ill health or disease, a good half of the problem is well on the way to be solved.

Not simply spreading the awareness is enough, but explain the reason for the points, in order to convert to knowledge to conviction is also essential before taking action and that is something which we all can do and must do, because this can contribute significantly to broadening universal health coverage, young speakers, Ibrahim bin Habibullah al Bukhari (Saudi Arabi) Mehdi Bagheri (Iran), Bushra Dehlvi (Japan) Shameer Raof and Noorul Ain Fatima (Rawalpindin/ Islamabad), Mohammad Afzal Anasha Khan (Peshawer), Burhan Munawwar and Dua Mansoor (Lahore) Mohammad Hayatullah and Iqra Sardar (Quetta), Habiba Abbas, Muqaddas Afzal and Rahim Umer (Karachi) also spoke on the occasion.

Alishba Shahzad compared the program, Hamdard Public School presented tableau, depicting the topic of the conference, in which diplomats, physicians, educationists, elite of the city, distinguished guests, teachers, parents and children in Large numbers were the audience. Conference ended on Dua e Said.
