Hamdard celebrates Iqbal Day

A function, to celebrate Iqbal Day, comprised speeches, Iqbal’s poems, tableau and dua-i-Said, was held recently under the aegis of Hamdard Naunehal Assembly Karachi chapter at a local hotel. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Sadia Rashid, President, Hamdard Foundation Pakistan said that Allama Iqbal wanted to see the youth of Pakistan and Muslim Ummah at the peak of progress, exalted character and leadership. Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said, by the grace of God, had the qualities of Iqbal’s Mard-i-Momen, she added.

Chief Guest, scholar and educationist Prof. Dr. Shakil Farooqui addressing the gathering of children said that Allama Iqbal urged to keep the balance in life in order to keep the vehicle of life moving smoothly like bicycle that needed to be paddled constantly to run adequately. ‘Learning is necessary to make progress in life and if we learn we would be able to reach our destination and that is the message of Iqbal’, he added.

Young speakers Hamna Shakeel, Sajid Ali, Sakina Ali Mohammed, Airaj Khalid, Jaweria Sufyan, Muneeb Asif Khan, Ghina Jamil and Umm-i-Rabab Haroon also spoke on the occasion.
