‘The re-branding of any institution at the proper time is necessary and Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Pakistan is doing the same, I congratulate its Chairperson, Mrs. Sadia Rashid and Managing Director & CEO, Usama Qureshi. I appreciate the way in which ‘re-branding’ and ‘new logo’ of Hamdard has been introduced and hope that positive effects of this step would be felt soon’.

This was stated by the Governor of Sindh, Muhammad Zubair while he was addressing the ceremony of ‘Hakim Mohammed Said Awards’ yesterday at Mohattah Palace Karachi.

He said that the execution of Hakim Mohammed Said Awards would promote the sense of Pakistaniate as he was a great patriot, philanthropist, physician and politician too and he should have been elected to the parliament. Hakim Said had established an industrial unit of Unani medicines and products in Karachi, which not only gave employments to the people but also provided them social welfare facilities and that was still continued, he added.

Emphasizing on need of an addition of businessman category in “Hakim Mohammed Said Awards, he said that businessmen would promote trade and industry in the country that provide employments to the public, thus they would render great service to the nation.

Commending the step of choosing the name of Aitezaz Ahsan Bangash for award, he said that Aitezaz could run from the scene and save his life, but he preferred to die in order to save the lives of his companions.

He was of the views that issuance of Hakim Mohammed Said Awards would strengthen the spirit of nationalism in Pakistani as Hakim Said was a great Pakistani, who loved Pakistan from the bottom of his heart.

Mrs. Sadia Rashid while addressing the awards ceremony said that the reason this Award was called the Hakim Mohammed Said Awards was that Hakim Said was brought up to believe in serving humanity and it was a part of his faith. When his company became a good profit-earning organization, he changed it into an Islamic Waqf and reserved its income for health, education and public welfare.

Usama Qureshi, Managing Director and CEO, Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) while delivering welcome address said: ‘I welcome you all, to Hamdard’s Ceremony for Corporate Rebranding and to the first ever ‘Hakim Mohammed Said Awards’, he said, adding that ‘I understand that time is changing, so should we. Tonight Hamdard is embarking on a new corporate journey to navigate into new horizons in the corporate world. We are growing with passion and hard work towards excellence, while safeguarding age-old values that Hamdard has always strived for, and instilling these values to the next generations.

He said this rebranding initiative would not only strengthen to our traditional power, values and credibility in the world, but also reflect our resolve to embark into the future with new found vigor.

‘We salute and pay tribute to our national heroes for their exceptional dedication, and delivering hope as an inspiration to millions and they are the true Hamdard as their Ishq and devotion for Pakistan is an inspiration for all of us, Mr. Qureshi concluded.

Hakim Mohammed Said Awards were awarded to Prof. Dr. Attaur Rehman, Sister Ruth Lewis,Anwar Maqsood, Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, Aiatezaz Hasan Shaheed, Amjad Islam Amjad, Dr. Syed Adeebul Hasan Rizvi, cricketer Sarfaraz Ahmed, Bushra Rehman and Masood Ahmed Barakati. Governor Sindh, Muhammad Zubair and Chairperson Mrs. Sadia Rashid gave away the awards to the recipients. Aitezaz Ahsan Shaheed’s award was received by his father, Mujahid Ali Bungash
