FPCCI to encourage tree plantation

In line with the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Standing Committee on Environment of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has decided to launch tree plantation campaign and persuade the business community to join the drive to counter the twin threats of climate change and pollution confronting our future generations. This was decided in the FPCCI Standing Committee meeting held at the Federation House.

Addressing the members of the Standing Committee S.M. Muneer, Former President FPCCI, & Former CE, TDAP said that FPCCI would actively participate in Prime Minister’s tree plantation mission and encourage the local entrepreneurs in particular to collectively plant trees in their office premises and adjoining areas. 

Mr. Mazhar Ali Nasir, Senior Vice President FPCCI in his address said that the Federation would provide all kind of support to the business community and this campaign would go on for five years to make Pakistan green and tackle the problem of pollution and smog through this plantation.

Mr. Gulzar Firoz, Chairman FPCCI Standing Committee on Environment, pointed out that today Pakistan was facing environmental problems because of global warming, ozone depletion and pollution and the only solution to these problems is of course plantation of more trees across Pakistan

Mr. Shifat Zaidi, Sr. Vice Chairman and Mr. Naeem Qureshi, Vice Chairman of FPCCI Standing Committee on Environment said that these trees and plants were the prime source of environmental purification and beautification.
